The British health and beauty high street chain is offering consumers 400 products to be delivered in under 20 minutes with the takeaway and home delivery service

Boots is the latest major British retailer to jump on two wheels by partnering with on-demand delivery service Deliveroo.

The health and beauty high street chain is trialling the partnership across 14 stores including outlets in Birmingham, London, LIverpool, Nottingham and Edinburgh.

The deal will mean consumers will be able to choose from 400 products to be delivered to their homes in under 20 minutes.

Best-selling brands such as No7, The Inkey List and CeraVe, as well as cosmetic essentials from deodorant to body lotion, will be available via the Deliveroo app.

As a result of lockdown, Boots' online sales have surged with orders on boots.com up 85% between 1 March 2020 and 1 March 2021compared to the same period the previous year.

If the pilot scheme is successful, and Boots expands the Deliveroo deal nationwide, the retailer will join a number of businesses to join the company's growing cosmetic and food portfolio.

Last summer, beauty and wellness retailer Holland & Barrett entered a partnership with the food delivery firm to offer the service across 50 stores.

Hair care brand John Frieda and LVMH's Benefit Cosmetics have partnered with Deliveroo for promotional events.

Paula Bobbett, Director of boots.com at Boots UK, said the partnership will be useful for parents and ill consumers who need a product urgently, but are unable to leave the house.
