Beauty companies have topped the 50 Best Workplaces for Innovators list published by Fast Company.

In partnership with Accenture, the list honours businesses and organisations that demonstrate a commitment to innovation across all levels; including offering extended time frames for projects, configuring work spaces and demonstrating inclusivity.

Paul Caugherty, Accenture’s Chief Technology and Innovation Officer said: “People are going to go where they feel innovation is valued.”

Johnson & Johnson was mentioned for its idea sharing event TEDxJNJ.

L’Oréal was praised for its 505 registered patents in 2018 and its wearable My Skin Track UV, which tracks skin’s UV exposure.

Meanwhile, P&G’s GrowthWorks programme, which identifies tech problems and helps to solve them, and Sephora’s Accelerate incubation programme to help boost start-up beauty brands were also recognised.

“This recognition is a tribute to our passionate and creative employees,” said L’Oréal USA’s President and CEO, Frédéric Rozé.

He added: "To respond to the rapid transformations in our industry and meet our ambition to be the worldwide leader in beauty technology and sustainability, we will rely on our culture of innovation and entrepreneurship to help us continually evolve."

Amazon, Mozilla, Kilck and Morgan Stanley were among the other companies that made the top 50.

According to Fast Company more than 360 companies applied for a place on the list.
