Luxury false eyelash brand partners with FaceCake to develop ‘try on' technology

False eyelash brand Battington has launched a new augmented reality app.

The eponymous app will allow customers to try on and purchase the brand’s silk eyelashes in all six styles.

Users can also save their favourite looks and share with other app users.

“This app was carefully designed so that users could easily experience the transformative nature of Battington with just a touch of their screen," said Creative Director Lilliana Vazquez.

"Each step was created with the user experience at the forefront, so that our customers can select and preview the lash which best complements their face shape and eye shape before they make their purchase.”

Marketing technology company FaceCake created the app; it previously worked with Shiseido, ShadeScout Nails and Bloomingdale’s.

The company said it focused on photorealism while creating Battington's app.

"Battington has created such beautiful lashes, so we developed a process to represent them in photorealistic detail, preserving their beauty and natural look for users to virtually try on," said FaceCake Founder and CEO Linda Smith.
