Chemicals and plastics company BASF has announced a number of personnel changes. Gabriel Tanbourgi, President of the Care Chemicals division, will retire on 31 December. Hans-W Reiners, who is currently President of the Performance Chemicals division, will take over Tanbourgi’s role from 1 January, 2015.

In addition, Professor Christian Fischer will take on the responsibility for the Performance Chemicals division on 1 January, while Dr Harald Lauke will take over from Fischer. Also on 1 January, Dr Peter Eckes will assume responsibility for the new research division, Bioscience Research, Research Triangle Park.

Finally, on 1 December, Dr Stefan Blank will become President of the Intermediates division, Ludwigshafen. The current head of division, Sanjeev Gandhi, has been appointed to the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE. Dr Guido Voit will succeed Blank as head of New Business.
