The direct seller has revamped its make-up line to feature high impact colour

From August, US direct seller Avon is unveiling its revamped make-up line, which is said to offer the brand’s most “vivid, vibrant and lasting formulations ever”.

The entire product line up, which will include 17 eye colours and 60 lip shades, feature Avon’s new True Colour Technology to bring bold and vivid colour to every skin tone. According to Avon, True Colour Technology led to the brand’s discovery that pigments, no matter how vivid or bold, are obscured by an opaque base. The company then decided to revamp its colour offering using translucent bases in order to bring out the true colour potential of its products.

In addition to strong pigment, the lipsticks also feature shea butter to help moisturise the lips, along with vitamin E, arctic berry and omega oil. Meanwhile, the eyeshadows all feature silicone coated pigment particles to create a smoother texture upon application. The colours are also crease proof to provide long lasting wear.

“Trying to improve on Avon's number one selling lipstick and eye shadow was not an easy task. In order to do this effectively we went directly to the consumer to determine areas of opportunity to make our great products even better! Avon has been a global authority on colour for over 100 years and our colour scientists collectively have hundreds of years of experience. With this level of expertise we were able to accomplish this task utilising state of the art technology and formulation approaches,” said Lisa Lamberty, Executive Director, Colour Product, Avon.

The collection will be priced between £6 for a Glimmerstick Lip Liner to £12 for the True Colour 8-in-1 Eye Shadow Palette.
