Aerobal expects record production of aluminium aerosol cans in 2011
Production up 8% in H1
Production grew by 8% in the first half of 2011 to a level of 3.3 billion cans worldwide and third quarter orders have also been satisfactory.
According to Aerobal, demand for deodorants, which accounts for half of total aluminium aerosol production, increased 16%. Demand for shaving foams and hair mousses also grew, while deliveries to the hair spray industry stagnated.
Growth was generated across all regions with a one-digit growth rate in North America and two-digit increases in Europe, South America, Asia and Africa.
“The booming market has induced several aluminium aerosol can producers to enlarge their production capacities because the industry strongly believes in the sustained success of this product,” commented Aerobal president Takaaki Takeuchi.
