The French dermatological brand has revamped its Topialyse line with new packaging designed to be ready to recycle

SVR, the French dermatological skin care brand, has selected an eco-friendly tube from Albéa for the relaunch of its Topialyse body cream.

Said to reduce the overall use of fossil-based plastics by more than 50% compared to standard tubes, the solution is the first product on the market to combine a 350-micron sleeve with Albéa’s EcoFushion Top solution.

Made of 100% PE, the tube is also designed to offer significantly reduced weight and be recycling-ready, in line with the dermatologist-created brand’s sustainability commitments.

“Our aim is to offer products that are safe for the consumers while minimising their environmental footprint, said Paul Chegri, who leads Packaging Development at SVR.

“It is therefore essential to integrate the end-of-life of packaging from the design stage.

“In this transition to a low-carbon economy for plastics we need solutions that go a step further.”

Founded in 1962 by pharmacists Simone and Robert Veret, SVR’s products feature a high concentration of active ingredients and are developed to be safe for all types of sensitive skin, including a barrier cream, face and body wash and lip balm.

“This new development with SVR demonstrates what a more responsible packaging means: a packaging that has a reduced environmental impact thanks to its lightweight design, and a packaging that is recycling-ready after its consumption,” added Aude Laclaire, Sustainability Director at Albéa Tubes.

“This achievement is in line with targets and commitments of both of our companies to reduce plastic waste.”
