Puig has appointed Marc Toulemonde as the new President of its Derma division.
He will sit on the fashion and fragrance business’ executive committee and report to the company’s Chairman and CEO Marc Puig.
Toulemonde succeeds Hervé Lesieur, who served as President of the Uriage and Apivita brands at Puig for the past 12 years.
“Mr Toulemonde brings with him 25 years of experience in the beauty industry, with a strong track record in digital and a deep expertise in dermatological products,” the company said in a statement.
“He is expected to boost the revenue of the skin care category, which is a crucial pillar of Puig’s growth strategy.”
Toulemonde joins from L’Oréal USA, where he worked as the Chief Digital and Marketing Officer.
In this role, he led the group’s digital acceleration across its portfolio of brands.
Prior to this, Toulemonde served as the President of L’Oréal USA’s Active Cosmetics Division (ACD) for six years.
“Puig’s Derma division has experienced a remarkable growth in these years, solidifying its position as a major player in the skin care market for products available in pharmacies and recommended by medical professionals,” the company added.
Puig owns a number of brands including Carolina Herrera, Paco Rabanne, Jean Paul Gaultier and Penhaligon's.
Last year Puig acquired a majority stake in Byredo, the Swedish fragrance and beauty brand founded by Ben Gorham.
Both Gorham and Manzanita Capital, which bought a majority stake in Byredo in 2013, will remain as shareholders.
In 2021, Puig also acquired premium beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury.
The Spanish fragrance and cosmetics conglomerate beat off industry rivals to secure the undisclosed stake at the time.
Since that time, Puig has been organised into three main divisions, comprising Derma, Beauty and Fashion and Charlotte Tilbury.
