Minimum Qualification: BSc Chemistry graduate with 2-3 years work experience

Starting Salary: £23,000

Starting date: Immediately

Here2Grow Cosmetics & Homecare Labs is a state-of-the-art Research & Development Lab located in Selby, North Yorkshire. Originally established in 2011, Here2Grow has a well-established portfolio that includes working with well-known household names and new upcoming brands. We are inviting applications for a new and exciting role working on green and sustainable FMCG products. As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the formulation of cosmetics & home care products on the bench. Setting up SOPs, running stability trials, housekeeping, maintaining lab stock, and communicating with suppliers, clients and Here2Grow associates. The Lab Technician reports to the Chief Chemist.

Job Duties:
The role involves working on multiple cosmetics/homecare projects. Key tasks will be:
• Setting up laundry trials
• Supporting experimental design on prototype formulations
• Trialling new cosmetic/homecare development products
• Creating reports on performance results
• Order chemical samples and pricing from suppliers
• Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintaining the Lab environment
• Perform stability and storage testing according to relevant standards

Performance Standards:
After training the Lab Technician is expected to carry out product development with minimum supervision, competencies expected:
• Be able to set priorities, manage own workload and deliver work in a timely manner
• Good attention to detail
• Be able to communicate and collaborate well with national and international stakeholders
• Have a sound understanding of cosmetic/homecare product development
• Good Lab Tech skills
• Excellent IT skills including excel, word and powerpoint
