IMCD enters Brazil via Makeni acquisition

An important step in the realisation of the distributor\'s strategy to develop in the largest country in Latin America

Dutch specialty chemicals distributor IMCD Group has acquired a majority interest in Makeni Chemicals, a leading specialty chemicals distributor in Brazil. Founded in 1981 and headquartered in São Paulo, Makeni has a sales revenue of Brazilian real BRL200m and employs more than 100 staff. The founding Medrano family will keep a minority interest in the business, with Reinaldo Medrano continuing to act as Managing Director of the company.

The company has a laboratory for quality control and two application labs, as well as nine sales representative offices throughout Brazil. Its main warehouse facility is located in Diadema, São Paulo with both bulk and liquid storage capacity.
