As part of its decarbonisation commitment the packaging firm sought independent verification from TÜV NORD

Geka, the manufacturer, supplier and wholesaler of beauty applicators, has stepped up its carbon footprint reduction with independent verification from TÜV NORD.

The TÜV NORD CO2 inventory certificate assessed four Geka facilities in Germany, the US and Brazil, calculating carbon emissions from fuel and energy consumption (gas, diesel, district heating, propane, electricity and company vehicle fuel consumption), as well as energy emissions upstream and from business travel.

Florent Lafond, CEO at GEKA, commented: “We are absolutely committed to improving our sustainability and reducing carbon emissions.

“We already calculate our global footprint annually by using Greenhouse Gas (GHG) protocol and going through the ISO 14063-1 standard.

“Now, we have taken a further step by independently certifying our CO2 inventory with TÜV NORD.

“As well as being part of our own sustainability journey, this transparency also supports our customers’ own carbon footprint reduction roadmaps.”
