Colep Packaging gains 40% stake in aluminium aerosol maker ALM

Move will see Colep Packaging offer a wider range of sustainable materials solutions for packaging

Aerosol specialist Colep Packaging, part of Portugal’s RAR Group, has acquired a 40% stake in Spanish aluminium aerosol provider ALM.

Colep says this move allows it enlarge its packaging portfolio and offer a wider range of sustainable materials solutions for packaging.

It aims to offer the market more alternatives, flexibility and customisation as a result.

“This acquisition represents an important moment in our growth strategy, aligned with the ambition to enlarge the packaging solutions of our company,” said Paulo Sousa, CEO of Colep Packaging.

“This is one more step in our strategic implementation that allows us to have a more effective answer to the market and a stronger partnership with our customers.”

David Massanet, ALM’s General Manager, added: “I believe that ALM with Colep Packaging will guarantee a more robust business, earning competitiveness and increase the value of our businesses in the future.”

ALM is a family-owned company of 30 years, which makes and sells a wide range of aluminium packaging solutions for cosmetics, personal care and home care, as well as the food and beverages industries.

It has sales of approximately €10m and employs 45 people.

Colep Packaging has a turnover of €119m and employs around 700 individuals in Portugal, Poland and Spain.

This time last year, Colep split its businesses into two separate entities; Colep Packaging and Colep Consumer Products are both owned by RAR Group.
