Cargill Beauty and Canadian biotech company Mirexus have entered into a long term strategic partnership to create PhytoSpherix, a pluri-functional phytoglycogen.
Glycogen is produced in skin under stressful conditions to improve skin cells’ energy levels for an ‘emergency response’.
Extracted from sweetcorn, PhytoSpherix behaves exactly like glycogen, and can be used by beauty manufacturers to improve skin hydration and barrier function, improve the feel of formulations and boost the performance of other active ingredients.
