Using Creative Chemistry, Stephenson leads the way in the manufacture and supply of speciality personal care ingredients and solutions
Twice winner of the Queens Award for Export, Stephenson is part of the Stephenson Group which began in 1856, and has evolved and grown over the last 160 years, building a reputation as a world leader in the development and supply of specialty chemicals.
The company develops and supplies products for personal care brands and manufacturers worldwide – from large blue chip brands to small and medium sized craft businesses.
Operating from a state -of-the-art research and manufacturing facility in Leeds, UK, its expertise embraces world-class innovation for a wide range of industries – with specific chemistry for personal care and soap-based products.
Dependable supply of these cutting-edge solutions is underpinned by distribution channel partners worldwide, alongside facilities in North America, Europe and China that assist prompt delivery to customers in more than 50 countries.
Stephenson continues to re-invest, self -assess, and drive innovation. As such, creativity is welcomed, supported by two advanced laboratories to offer customers a full support programme, with a research and development lab focusing on new technology, industrial chemical processes and innovation within the Personal Care industry.
We undertake a variety of strategies to embed CSR and sustainability throughout our R&D, manufacturing process and supply chain; which means looking at ways to prevent waste, be energy efficient and optimising ambient or cold-processing. In fact, most of our soap bases and cosmetic ingredients facilitate eco-formulating for the personal care manufacturer.
We have a growing portfolio of RSPO certified soap bases, for more information you can view our RSPO profile and review our progress at www.rspo.org. We are committed to supplying the highest quality products to our customers. This is demonstrated by our continued registration to the Quality Management System ISO9001, a certification that was first achieved in 1991.
Our manufacturing facility is also certified to the Soil Association, Ecocert and NOPUSDA, Kosher and Fair Trade standards. Regular audits against these certificates ensure the products provided meet the very highest quality standards.
We are very aware of our responsibility to the environment, and in 1997 the company was awarded the certification for Environmental Management System IS0 14001, a standard still enforced today.
Stephenson continues to re-invest, self -assess, and drive innovation. As such, creativity is welcomed, supported by our state-of-the-art laboratories.
